Ruby Montgomery Moss 97, passed away Friday,March 14, 2003, in a localhospital.
She was born on March 12,1906, in Bellwood. She is the last survivingchild from a family of 11 children. She resided in Bentley. She was aseamstress for Wellans Alteration Department for many years, and sheworked part time until she was in her 80s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Moss: daughter StellaVoorhies; and grandchild Sondra McManus.
Her survivors include one daughter, Barbara McManus McCann and husband,Judson, of Lake Charles; one son, Jewel W. Moss and wife, Verla, ofBentley; four grandchildren, Sharon Foster of Bentley, Melinda Voorhiesof Baton Rouge, John H. Voorhies and wife, Sue, of Auburn, Wash., and M.Brent McManus and wife, Kim, of Lake Charles; six great-grandchildren,Shanna Foster Ellis, Allen Wayne Foster, Emily Voorhies, Andrea Voorhies,McKenzie McManus and Madison McManus; and threegreat-great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Joshua and Lucas Ellis.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 16, at OldBellwood Cemetery in Bellwood. Arrangements are by Hixson Funeral Home ofPineville. Visitation was held Saturday. Memorial donations may be madeto the charity of one's choice, the family said
