Dowden will be at 10 a.m. Friday in OakForest Baptist Church with the Revs. Millard Monk and Bud McCulloughofficiating. Burial will be in Old Kisatchie Cemetery under direction ofHixson. Dowden, 86, of Leesville died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, in LafayetteGeneral Hospital. He was a native of Kisatchie and a longtime resident ofthe Leesville/Vernon Parish area. He retired from the Leesville StateSchool after many years service and was a retired licensed electricianand plumber. Survivors include his wife, Evie E. Dowden of Leesville; two sons, ReedDowden of Leesville and Kenneth Wayne Dowden of Hornbeck; four sisters,Bertie Dew of Zwolle, Elna VerWeyst of Lexington, Ky., and Elma Jensenand Doris Brown, both of Green Bay, Wis.; nine grandchildren and 25great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 11 a.m. today until time of services Friday in thechurch.
