BIOGRAPHY: Per an email and text document dated 7 July 1999 from William Montgomery, son of Graden L. Montgomery (CMS# 764):
Thomas King Montgomery lived in the Abingdon, Virginia area in the 1850s and 1860s (Washington County.) He had apparently moved to Poor Valley (Saltville area of Washington Co.) prior to the 1870 Census. One son's (Robert Henderson Montgomery) birthplace was given as Saltville, Virginia in 1871, and the family then moved to Oldtown (Greenup Co.), Kentucky in 1873.
BIOGRAPHY: Confederate Army records indicate Thomas King Montgomery was temporarily mustered into service with the Washington County militia for a 9-day period commencing either April 6th, or 7th, 1862. Confederate card # 51778221 applies.
