  Jessie and Jim were both high school drop outs in 1915-16, married. He ran away left bills no income he joined Army, no communicating with him Jessie got divorce on grounds of desertion Granpa helped settle bills Jim always claimed he sent money via Army Divorce finalized while she was in Washington State (having moved from Colorado) Jessie became sick and starving Grandma Plumlee helped Jessie get better to travel to WA. She came to Wa in 1917 Pictures of Jessie with horse were taken in Washington State. Jessie worked with the telephone company and kept the books. She did bookkeeping for hardware firm in Davenport and Reardon, Washington. Then she got a job in the Lincoln County Courthouse as deputy treasurer for 40 years until she retired at age 70.
